Kite in the Air – exercise #123

Kite in the Air (exercise #123) SiRA Fly Yoga or Aerial Yoga.

Kite in the Air Fly Yoga exercise is part of the hammock exercises in Fly Yoga program.

Highlights: • Sit on the hammock with the fabric wide underneath you, fully covering your seat and your back • Grab the sides of the hammock and lean back • Roll towards the right side of the hammock, resting on your right side • Reach across to grab the right side of the hammock with your left hand • With a breath in, stretch both legs and your right arm out long, arch your low back • With a breath out, draw your knees to your chest, and hug your shins with your right arm • Inhale to extend long again, exhale to squeeze in • Repeat 5 or more times • Slowly roll to your back and grab both sides of the hammock to sit up • Lean back and roll to your left to repeat Benefits: • Lengthens the front side of the body • Strengthens the core • A dynamic, active pose • Introduces breath to movement
