Stork with Open Wings (exercise #56) SiRA Fly Yoga or Aerial Yoga.
Stork with Open Wings Fly Yoga exercise is part of the hammock exercises in Fly Yoga program.
Highlights:- Stand behind the hammock
- Grab the sides of the hammock with both hands at shoulder height
- Lift the right leg, bend the knee, and place the right shin in the hammock
- Lean the body forward and stretch the left thigh
- While holding the forward lunge, release one arm at a time to the front side of the hammock
- The hammock will rest against the backside of the triceps with the arms outstretched
- Hold the forward lunge with arms reaching outward for 3-5 breaths
- One at a time, release the arms to grab the sides of the hammock again
- Engage the core to shift back and return to standing
- Release the right foot to the ground
- Repeat on the other side
- Requires core engagement and stabilization
- Stretches the thighs and hamstrings
- Opens the front of the chest
- Increases arm strength
